These ideals are an aspiration for me because they are
things that I already do and things I plan on doing more of. An example is
building relationships whether with child and families or colleagues building relationships
are very important in this field and in life. Also continuing education in an ever changing field to have a wealth of knowledge to share with others.

Sharita, I agree building a relationship with others is very important. Especially when working with children and families. It helps build a better support system for the child.
ReplyDeleteHi Sharita, I enjoyed taking this course with you. Thank you for all the comments and positive feedback. As you continue throughout this field I pray your passion and goals are met. Keep encouraging others and finish strong. Marquitta Patterson
ReplyDeleteMarquitta, thank you for your encouragement. I hope to collaborate with you in a future course.
DeleteHello Sharita,
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed the entire class with you. The one thing that stood out to me most was WK4 Discussion. You went into detail explaining the differences between Equality vs. Equity. How profound to see the visual you gave stating, “Equality=sameness. Giving everyone the same thing. It only works if everyone starts from the same place. Equity=fairness. Access to same opportunities. We must ensure equity before we can enjoy equality” (Wilkerson; Group 2; WK4Discussion, 2019) A visual along with an explanation breaks things down into layman’s terms. Children as well as adults can understand what you’re trying to convey. I certainly will carry that thought throughout my career. You're a positive asset to the ECE community. Thank you.

Lewanda, thank you for your feedback. I had to write a paper in undergrad and equality vs equity stood out for me and I wanted to share. I wish you the best and thanks again.
