Marian Wright Edelman is founder and president of the Children's Defense Fund. She created the Children's Defense Fund in her advocacy of disadvantage Americans. The Children's Defense Fund mission "is to ensure every child a Healthy Start, a Head Start, a Fair Start, a Safe Start, and a Moral Start in life and successful passage to adulthood with the help of caring families and communities"(Children's Defense Fund, 2019). I admire her work and the mission of her organization which led me to inquiry a teaching position at an early head start program. My work impacts the lives of many and I'm grateful for such an opportunity. I hope to ensure a fair start for all children.
